Bell & Ross Hits the Road with Harley-Davidson

Shaw Harley-Davidson is a leading dealership inside the United Kingdom along with a six-time award winner for best UK Dealer. They approached Bell & Ross about a bike design project that was inspired by the watchmaker's vision on performance, precision and engineering. This unique motorcycle was built making use of the same technical exactness that Bell & Ross uses when creating its signature watches.

"We wanted to mirror the Bell & Ross timepiece wherever we could on the motorcycle and to ensure that the vital piece was never compromised by superfluous design or items," said Steve Willis, Shaw Harley-Davidson Sales Director and Head with the Speed & Custom made design wing from the dealership.

The methods that master watchmakers at Bell & Ross use when developing and assembling their timepieces were reflected from the Shaw Harley-Davidson grasp technicians when building the project bike, which is primarily based around the Harley-Davidson FXSTB Softail Nightrain, one in the much more radical Softails - lengthy, low and naked and named by Willie G. Davidson.

The motorcycle was completely stripped down to each last nut and bolt inside the Speed & Customized workshop in the East Sussex dealership, and every single detail was taken into account around the rebuild. Using the BR 01-92 Carbon observe - the iconic instrument created by Bell & Ross - the Shaw Speed and Custom made team mounted the timepiece in a handcrafted center console using a machined section of aluminum. The look at mounting positioned the timepiece in an ideal place for its main function as a professional tool for the rider. A combination of anodized blue, carbon and stealth-like matte black tailor made paint was used on the bike to reflect the timepiece.

"We were immediately excited by this project," explains Bruno Belamich, designer and co-founder of Bell & Ross. "We identified with all the values embodied by Harley-Davidson, values that we share including the search for adventure, precision as well as the extreme."
