Committed to its assistance for that arts, Audemars Piguet hosts The Art of Timeless Precision photography exhibition from now until October 9 at Harbour Metropolis, Hong Kong.

With gear provided by Swedish camera maker Hasselblad, students from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Hong Kong and Beijing Film Academy will flex their muscles - or rather lens - to gain a spot at the exhibition.

David von Gunten, CEO of Audemars Piguet Hong Kong & China, spoke to Luxury-insider prior to a exhibition.

"While Carsten Schael, Yu Yuntian and Hasselblad each represent the top in their field, we wanted to add a deeper layer to this project - which is why we sought collaborations with outstanding art schools in Hong Kong and Beijing: Savannah College of Art and Design along with the Beijing Film Academy. By being more involved in the community, we are providing students together with the opportunity to create their own masterpieces."

Winners will likely be given an opportunity to visit the Audemars Piguet Manufacture in Le Brassus, where they would apply their photography skills to capture the splendid Vallee de Joux - long touted as the watch-making cradle of Switzerland.

"I am confident that this precious opportunity will do much to inspire and train the next generation in becoming more skilful and experienced in its craft," von Gunten adds.

Capitalizing within the synergies between photography and watch-making, The Art of Timeless Precision fuses the art of photography and watch-making, both of which, as Von Gunten points out, "require a sophisticated level of mastery before they are considered true arts in themselves."

Heralding 136 years with the manufacture's know-how, the brand new Jules Audemars collection will also be on display.

Von Gunten commented "From dual time, extra thin, small seconds for the moon phase, self-winding and large date tourbillion, each piece possesses a distinctive character in its precise engineering and remarkable design. They measure time precisely and are authentic classics that give off a natural elegance. What's more, the name of the collection - Jules Audemars - pays tribute to one of our founders' name."
